11 Court House South Dennis Road
Welcome to the Cape May Court House Acme!
Our time in the first state has come to an end for now, and we're back in New Jersey. The town of Cape May Court House, unsurprisingly the county seat of Cape May County, has a history with Acme dating back to 1955. The store we'll be seeing today is the third Acme to have existed in Cape May Court House, and opened on June 30, 1996 in a former Jamesway. This location originally opened with the Red White & Blue decor inside, with a Santa Fe remodel happening in the mid-2000's. Today, it has an early version of the Quality Built interior which it received during a remodel in 2015. Let's step inside and take a look around!
We're entering on the right side, to produce and bakery. The ceiling in here could use a little work.
Other than a Quality Built sign and a coat of green paint, the produce alcove is still all 90's, including the fake windows and the tiled flooring left over from the Red White & Blue days.
A small bakery is up next, located next to the produce department. The colors used here were changed for the later remodels (see Swedesboro). Personally, I like the orange wall, though the lettering is a little hard to read.
The packaged meats are in the back right corner, with fresh seafood and Lancaster Brand meats on the back wall. I do really like the dark brown paint seen here.
The corner deli and foods to go round out the fresh departments for this store. The one thing I truly do not like in these earlier Quality Built stores is the deli signage. This one isn't the best, and Beach Haven's is a joke. Later remodels figured it out.
Frozen foods are in the aisles across from the deli.
This decor element located above breakfast meats didn't hang on in the later remodels.
A look down aisle 15, one of the general merchandise aisles, towards the front of the store.
Dairy starts in the left corner and extends down the last aisle. I try not to include a lot of people in these pictures, but this area was really busy for whatever reason.
Pharmacy and health and beauty are in the corner past dairy. Also included is the logo wall! Sadly, this wasn't retained for the revised Quality Built package either, which is a shame since it's a really cool touch. Also, interestingly, this store's pharmacy still uses the Sav-On brand.
Across from floral is the Acme Liquor Store. In New Jersey, retailers are only allowed to have two liquor licenses. This location and the North Cape May Acme both have had liquor for several years. This section is walled off on three sides and has its own cash registers.

This Acme is one of the few to have Tesla Superchargers. Usually, Wawa has them, but the one in Cape May Court House is older so they don't have room.
2018
This was before the shopping center was repainted. While the black does look more modern, I think I prefer the light color scheme.
Acme is the only supermarket in Cape May Court House and pretty much dominates the Jersey Shore, so there's not much competition here. I think that's going to do it for this post! This was a pretty nice Acme and also a very busy one. I'm glad to be able to bring an older Quality Built iteration to the blog, considering we've seen so many Acme locations that look exactly the same inside. Anyway, thanks for shopping and see you next week! Sincerely, The Retail Connection.
