Welcome to the Butterfield Jewel-Osco!
Thanks to our contributor Calypso, we're headed to the Land of Lincoln! The most popular grocer in Illinois is by far Albertsons-owned Jewel-Osco, commonly known as simply Jewel, so it's no surprise that the first of hopefully many Illinois store tours on the blog is of one. The city of Elmhurst has a history with Jewel dating back to the 1940's, and today we'll be seeing their York and Butterfield location which was built sometime in the mid-80's. Without further adieu, let's take a quick look around!
Produce is on the right side of the store, with the bakery to the left of it. The deli is in the back left corner with meat and seafood following. This store has the Legacy decor from Albertsons, which is essentially the same as Acme's Quality Built with some color changes and the addition of the Albertsons leaf.
A look at the bakery cases. The cursive font seen here is not used by Acme.
And some display cases across from the bakery, plus a very small glimpse at the in-store Huntington Bank branch.
Beer and wine are in the last two aisles on the left side of the store. Usually, Acme will have dairy and frozen here.

This store recently had a Starbucks added.

The store was repainted sometime last year. This was prior to TCF Bank being acquired by Huntington.

Judging by the fruit photos above the entrance, I'm assuming this store previously had some variation of the Premium Fresh & Healthy decor.
That is all we have for this Jewel-Osco! Thank you again to Calypso for bringing this store to us, and thanks to you for reading! I hope we'll be able to see even more stores in Chicagoland in the future. See you next week! Sincerely, The Retail Connection.
Nice photos!
